On July 11, Professor Wei Lisha, President-elect of the World Health Organization's International Agency for Cancer Research, visited Lanzhou University. Principal Yan Chunhua met the guests in the VIP room of the Science Museum. Vice President Li Yumin, head of Lanzhou University's First Hospital and International Cooperation and Exchange Office, attended the meeting.
- Yan Chunhua welcomed Professor Wei Lisha's visit and praised and thanked the team for their research work. He said that cancer research is a huge project and a subject with great challenges. It is necessary to combine theory with big data research and solve the common health problems faced by mankind with optimized methodology and technology. The 5-year cooperation between Lanzhou University's First Hospital and Professor Wei lisha in cancer research is only the beginning, and we look forward to establishing a solid platform for cooperation with the World Health Organization and high-level universities and scientific research institutions all over the world to carry out in-depth, long-term and practical cooperation.
- Wei lisha said that the two teams have already carried out fruitful cooperation in areas such as cancer screening and treatment, and expect to produce more fruitful results in the future. She will also promote China's entry into the World Health Organization's International Cancer Research Institute so that both sides can cooperate more efficiently.
It is reported that through this visit, professor Wei lisha's team will further strengthen scientific research cooperation with the first hospital of Lanzhou university in digestive tract tumors, cervical cancer and breast cancer.
